Blog Design

I have been trying, for the longest time, to change the look of my blog. I search for the right background, choose the colors I want to use, apply all the changes and then....I'm not happy with it.

I do like one of the blog templates called Dynamic...it reminds me of the Facebook Timeline look, which I really like...but the layout isn't quite right either...so here I am...using the stock photo of Grand Central when my own pictures of New York would be so much better.

This is the first day of us being closed to customers and we were really able to get so much clearing out done. Last night was so emotional as we did things for the last time, we all met back at the store and toasted (non-alcoholic) mocktails to the end of one chapter and the beginning of something new. We told our stories of how we came to Gap and just enjoyed the last night of being open for business with the people who have made it so spectacular.

Of course we still have moments of tremendous sadness and last night I couldn't sleep a wink...today was a little more hopeful and maybe, just maybe...because we were so busy just doing....we didn't have time to think how sad it all is.

I am also working on a "goodbye" letter. Good idea? Bad idea? It's not overly dramatic, its simple and I really want to say goodbye, I want to make sure that closing the store has a face attached to it. Weird? I'm not sure, but I've got it written and I really like it. We'll see.

This week is all about closing the store and then next week I'm just going to relax...but after that we are going to see my nephew who is the lead in his school play-a prouder auntie I couldn't be.

Hope you all are having a lovely week.

XO,

Kiks

When Woolworths shut down our local one had a goodbye letter in the window. It was a nice gesture.

So, do you have plans for the future yet? Didn't you used to think about being a teacher?

I think a good-bye letter is perfect! Will you share here?

Oh, and I like this blog design... the yellow banner is perfect for the bee hive:) But I also know what you mean about something not being right. I still don't LOVE my blog layout:) But I'm not gifted in the computer thing, so I do the best I can! xoxo
